At Kernow Killer we feel it’s very important to give back to local charities. This year we have chosen to support LARF; a fantastic charity raising money to assist in the treatment and care of teenagers and young people under the age of 24 within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. LARF also raises funds for improving hospital and care facilities primarily for those receiving cancer and leukemia treatment.
Their mission statement is to ensure that teenagers and young people aren’t just “existing” on wards and in hospitals, they aim to make their experience a more pleasant one.
They do this by raising funds to initially assist Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust in the introduction of providing medical facilities, equipment and support specifically designed for the age group of teenagers and young people to the age of 24. This will run alongside Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust clinical site strategy development plan.
The long-term aim is to annually raise funds to enable RCHT to have specialist trained medical staff & Psychiatric staff to support these individuals whilst undergoing cancer/leukemia treatment. Care will happen either within a hospital environment or as outreach community support.
We hope you feel it is also important to raise money for this brilliant charity and support us in doing so you can set up your own JustGiving page at the web address below. We will also be fund raising on the day of the event.
